Getting Back on Track

After a great vacation or summer break, we all tend to struggle with getting back on track and finding our rhythm. It can be hard to know when and where to start.   There is no perfect time; there’s no better time than now.

To begin, establish a morning routine.

Establish a Morning Routine

The morning routine is critical. The most successful and joyful people start their day with a consistent morning ritual. It gives us the clarity to focus on what matters. Morning routines vary in time. At a minimum, a morning routine should consist of gratitude, prayer/meditation, and exercise (if time allows). We all have a few minutes to find gratitude, as simple as thank you for this day or putting one foot in front of the other.

Secondly, identify your goals and values.

Identify Goals & Values

Each day reflect on what’s most important to accomplish and what do you value? For example, improve work-life balance, more intentional time with family/friends, workout regularly, eat better, etc.

Prioritize

Once you establish goals, look at all the tasks and activities for the day. Identify the ones that help you achieve the goals and cross out all the others that take up time. There is only so much time in the day. We have to prioritize.

Schedule Your Time

Lastly, put everything in your calendar and schedule your time, down to your workouts, errands, to-do lists, etc. As you get your routine established, re-evaluate your goals and adjust your schedule accordingly.

Remember, real change takes time.
